Mat+Kat are a New York based director and photographer duo comprised of Mat Sliwa and Kat Bayard. After graduating from the School of
Visual Arts, they set out on separate careers as fine art photographers before teaming up to create a unified voice and dynamic visual language as a directing duo. Rooted in conceptual art and centered around storytelling they use still and moving images in an effort to honestly depict the human spirit. The dialogue between them results in their fresh and unconventional approach to directing both narrative & commercial work.

This approach has brought their work to the attention of many publications, including; Vogue, GQ, HERO, HEROINE, Autre, Candy Transversal, Office, Paper, and V. They have also collaborated with commercial clients such as; Calvin Klein, Off-White, The North Face, Fila, SSENSE, Bobbi Brown, and Philosophy.
